Ballet is a very structured and disciplined type of dance. It teaches you to be strong, lean and graceful but comes with a lot of hard work. It will consist of barre work, center floor and corner combinations. Ballet contains the fundamentals of all other dance. If you want to be a good dancer this is where you start.
Students should come with hair in a bun, pink tights and shoes and a black leotard, ready to learn.
For dancers en pointe, our Ballet Conditioning and Pointe Class focuses on pointe work while increasing strength and developing a foundation to progress on pointe. You will need to be tested and invited to this class. This is to prevent injury.
Contemporary
Contemporary classes consist of unique moves, big leaps, and multiple turns. To excel in this class, dancers need a strong background in ballet as it encourages grace, balance, and muscle control.
In a weekly contemporary class, dancersare taught a new choreography phrase each week helping students to learn how to pick up new movements quickly, express themselves, and improve their performance technique.
Hip Hop
In hip hop class, students learn a series of fun, energetic steps set to age-appropriate music and movement. Teaching rhythm and coordination, students will be challenged to think on their feet while enjoying a fast-paced dance class popular with both boys and girls.
